Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

“Shrove Tuesday”, the day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Lenten Season in the Church, carries the tradition of a Pancake / Sausage Supper.  It is a time of eating fats  and sugars, “Fat Tuesday”.  Our congregation began this tradition many years ago,  and it is a favorite time of fellowship and painless fund-raising.

In 2024, forty-nine very generous people gave a total of $950 at this donation-only fundraiser for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank—helping to eliminate hunger.  This year’s event was further strengthened by a Thrivent Action Team donation from Thrivent Financial which covered all of our expenses so that everyone’s donation went to the Food Bank.
