The cemetery is located across the road from the church. It was only established in the early twentieth century with the first burial taking place January 2, 1900. The Reverend William Peter Huddle wrote in his book, "History of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Madison County, Virginia From 1717 to 1907, page 101, "Strange it may seem this church had no cemetery for so many years. This seeming neglect, if neglect it be, can be accounted for partly by the fact that the ground around it was long considered unfit for burial purposes."
