We are delighted to announce that Rev. Dr. James C. Kniseley has accepted the call to be our pastor at Hebron Lutheran Church. Pastor Kniseley joined our congregation on July 1, 2024. He is an ordained Lutheran Pastor. He served congregations in Southern California, Kansas, and Virginia. In 2015, he retired from full-time ministry, after serving for 15 years as co-pastor with his wife, Carol Haynes Kniseley, at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Pastor Jim considers himself an ecumenical minister. He is licensed to preach by the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, the Presbytery of the James, and the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Pastor Jim has a passion for history. He majored in history at UCLA. These days you will often find him being the history guide/trolley driver in Old Town Fredericksburg.
Previously he was the part-time Covenant Pastor at King’s Chapel Presbyterian Church in Doswell, Virginia. Before that he served as interim pastor at Lutheran congregations in Richmond and Harrisonburg.
In 2020, the Kniseleys fulfilled their years-long dream and moved to Lake Anna. They designed their lake cottage and share their home with Frasier, a 16-year-old orange tabby cat, and Dakota, a 9-year-old shih tzu dog.
