Rev. Dr. James C. Kniseley
Beginning July of 2024, we were delighted to welcome Rev. Dr. James C. Kniseley as Pastor of Hebron Lutheran Church,.
Pastor Kniseley is an ordained Lutheran minister who has served congregations in Southern California, Kansas, and Virginia. For 15 years, he and his wife, Rev. Carol Haynes Kniseley, were co-pastors at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg until his retirement from full-time ministry in 2015. Since then, he has served in several interim and part-time pastorates, most recently at King’s Chapel Presbyterian Church in Doswell.
An ecumenical pastor, Pastor Kniseley is also licensed to preach in Episcopal, Presbyterian, and United Methodist settings. He has a lifelong passion for history—having studied it at UCLA—and today enjoys sharing that love as a trolley driver and guide in Old Town Fredericksburg.
In 2020, Pastor Kniseley and Carol moved to Lake Anna, where they designed their lake cottage. They share their home with Frasier, their orange tabby cat, and Dakota, their shih tzu.
We are thankful for Pastor Kniseley’s leadership and presence among us at Hebron.
